What To Expect During Your First Visit
Your initial appointment is designed to be comprehensive. It typically takes between one and one and a half hours. This time allows us to gather a complete picture of your oral health without rushing.
One of our doctors will perform a complete oral examination. We look for signs of tooth decay, periodontal (gum) disease, and even screen for oral cancer. This baseline exam ensures we catch potential issues early.
To see what is happening beneath the surface, we will take digital x-rays of your teeth. These images help us identify bone loss, hidden decay, or root issues that are not visible to the naked eye.
Depending on the condition of your teeth and gums, a professional cleaning may be performed during this visit. However, if signs of gum disease are present, we may schedule a specialized cleaning for a follow-up visit to ensure your gums receive the care they need.
After your exam and x-ray review, the doctor will discuss the findings with you personally. We will create a customized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs and goals.

Preparing For Your Appointment
To make your visit to our Stroud office as pleasant and brief as possible, please come prepared with the following:
- Photo identification: Please bring a valid driver’s license or ID card.
- Medical history: Be prepared to list any medications you are currently taking and relevant medical history.
- Insurance card: If you will be filing for insurance benefits, please bring your current card. Our team will provide a complimentary benefits breakdown for you.
- Payment method: If you do not have insurance, or for any co-pays, please note that payment is due when treatment is received.
