Advanced Technology

Dr. Francis has invested in Digital Dentistry Technology so that he can provide precise, accurate and more comfortable dental restorations.

Conebeam 3D X-rays

Because accuracy and safety are important, Dr, Francis has invested in sophisticated 3D cone beam x-ray technology.

3D cone beam x-ray technology gives us much more information than traditional 2D dental x-rays and allows us to make a better diagnosis which leads to more predictable treatment for the patient. Whether for an initial diagnosis, root canal treatment, dental implants, wisdom tooth extractions, or pathology, 3D images are crucial for an accurate diagnoses and treatment plan.

Conebeam 3D x-rays are extremely safe and cause less radiation than what the average person is exposed to from their cell phones on a daily basis.

MoonRay 3D Printer

MoonRay ushers in a new era of digital dentistry. Now we can produce precise implant surgical guides, digital dentures, occlusal guards, teeth straightening aligners and dental models right here in the office.

The MoonRay allows us to make surgical guides which allows implants to be placed with the most precise accuracy. Utilizing surgical guides made by the MoonRay will make our implant surgeries less invasive, quicker, with less pain and allow a faster recovery.
Dr. Francis’ investment in the MoonRay technology will speed the process of placing an implant and allow you to get your new tooth even faster than before.

Digital Workflow for Dental Impants

This is the technology that guides Dr. Francis to place surgical implants with a less invasive procedures, with a quicker recovery and better long term predictability.

Digital Scanner

Digital "impressions" are more comfortable for patients, faster for the dental team, and are able to produce highly accurate images that contribute to restorations that seat easily and quickly

CEREC CAD/CAM Technology

CEREC is a method used by thousands of dentists worldwide since 1987 not only to replace these fillings, but also to restore any tooth that is decayed, weakened, broken, etc. to its natural strength and beauty. Better yet, it's done with all-ceramic materials that are tooth colored in a single appointment!

Acronym for computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing, computer systems used to design and manufacture dental products.

IV Sedation & Sedation Dentistry

Sedation dentistry involves the use of medications to allow you to relax and feel sleepy during a dental visit or procedure. There are a variety of sedation dentistry methods available at Dental Designs of Stroud including intravenous sedation, inhaled and oral sedation.

Oral medication can be taken for shorter appointments. In complex cases, we use an IV drip so the medication can be administered more slowly, and for a longer period of time.
Candidates for sedation include:
Those with a sensitive gag reflex
Patients with complex cases can be completed in fewer appointments
Anxiety just talking about the dentist as well as smells and sounds
Fear of needle or injection shots
Past traumatic dental experience
